The Redevelopment of a former Television Station lot in Richmond, an established inner suburb of Melbourne.
The site was large and the proposal attempted to break the spaces down to a neighbourhood scale, with a series of apartment buildings set behind a bar of townhouses, addressing the fine-grain residential quality of the area.
Internal courtyards between buildings were developed into rich urban gardens.
A simplified visualization of the scale of the development.
Elevations of the townhouse component reference the industrial past of the area.
Exploded axonometric showing the elements of the townhouse.
The site, highlighted here in blue accommodated 12 separate apartment buildings, a heritage building, which is to be redeveloped into community facilities, and two significant banks of townhouses.
